Free Wedding Photography

Check out the link to Genevieve Nisly. Again this year she is offering to shoot a wedding free to a couple in need. Be sure to tell everyone you know, it's an incredible opportunity.

what is an e-session

So I am not one who is big on having "raves" on my site. Many times I feel they sound canned or solicited. But after this past weekends e-session, Alicia sent me a few quotes from her friends that I just could not go with out posting.

I met up with the couple again last night for a little bit more feed back from the shoot. Like many couples the whole e-session is a bit strange. They do not know what to expect. My e-sessions are not a studio head and shoulders, flash back to your homecoming pictures. I really try to connect with the couple and let their personalities and relationship come through in the images.

We will typically go out for an hour or two and shoot in many different locations. The benefits of taking the time for this shoot are many. The couple gets some killer images of them, the couple not as the bride and groom. We will be doing lots of the B&G stuff later. I get to see how they interact with each other, with me behind the camera and they can see how I direct and prompt. These are all very helpful in setting expectations before the wedding day.

Any way on to the comments.

AWESOME! You two are hot bitches! Nate and I will see everyone in July!

Those are AWESOME pictures!! You guys are so good at straight faces! Kurt and I just kept thinking we could never pull off those pictures! Your photographer seems really good... I like many of the poses. If they were pictures of us, I would want to frame them all and put them in our house!! Good luck choosing!!

They were awesome. You two pull off the - hot serious don't F with us while we love each other - look very well.

So cute Alicia! You guys look like J.Crew catalog models. Love them – let me know when he posts more :o)

Josh and Alicia

With the great winter weather rolling in this week I was able to catch up with Josh and Alicia. We had a great time exploring some new shooting locations. They were real troopers and up for just about anything I asked. Can't wait for the wedding.

iGot the iPhone

After much delay I have finally took the leap and got the iPhone. This thing really is all that and a bag of chips. Many of my peers were swearing by the phone, but I was going to be the version 2 hold out. I am glad I waited no longer. It is so cool to have everything with you and also a quick portable portfolio. Don’t get me wrong I do not want to be a slave to technology and always feel the need to be connected, but it is a huge convenience to have all my stuff in one place.

I have had one little scary incident with the phone already. Sunday at the bridal show, only one day after getting the phone, my ‘friend’ Rob Drago of RAD Productions decides
to teach me a lesson and kidnap the phone. Luckily Jenelle recovered the baby, I mean phone unharmed.

Thanks Rob.

Bridal Show Update

Well Jenelle and I survived the back to back bridal show weekends. It was a great experience. I have not done a show for two years now.

We got to meet so many brides to be and a fair number of grooms too.

My tag line incase you did not know, “Grooms are People Too” was a hit. People really got it and I think some probably appriciated the fun message it says about me and my work.

I enjoyed meeting some other photographers as well as hanging with some old friends like Tom Forrest and Rob Drago.

I was also able to meet some other wedding vendors who I have gotten to work with in the past and some I look forward to working with in the future.

This wedding season is shaping up to be my biggest ever and I can’t wait to get started.

Thanks for coming out.

January Bridal Shows

This Sunday, January 13th and the following January 20th I will be at Todays Bride Bridal Shows. Please stop by and visit the booth. If you or someone you know is having a wedding soon, now is a good time to start booking your vendors.

First wedding with the D3

This past Saturday I got an opportunity to try out the new Nikon while shooting for my friend Tom Forrest. Tom is a real cool guy, I could shoot with him anytime.

I was pretty amazed by the files the camera was putting out. The low light on this thing is excellent. I am very excited about the coming season using this camera.

A bonus to shooting this weekend was another great opportunity to work along side Brian and Susy of 2nd mile productions, they are in the last two images. I met them a few weeks ago at a Christmas Party and was surprised to see them again so soon. If you are looking for beautiful cinematic video, check them out.

Thanks again to Tom for letting me tag along.
