grooms are people too

Just finished up with tonight's e-session and I thought it would be a great time to show some before and afters. The before images are pretty much what comes out of the camera with a little RAW adjustments.These are what are delivered to clients. Images that get ordered or selected for the albums will get some love in Photoshop. There are a number of tools and techniques to take the image in different directions depending on the setting and mood. Let me know what you think, which ones are your favorites?

This Sunday I finished off my triple wedding weekend shooting with my friend Tom Forrest. Of course I had to sneak in one of the bride too.

So before I explain the post title let me say what a wonderful couple they are. They gave me plenty of creative time, plus they saw each other prior to their ceremony which really makes things go smoothly.

We took a little photo safari of downtown Hudson for the fun stuff today, even stopping by the shop where Kate found her wedding dress. I know they are all shot wide, but we don't get too many days like this so I really wanted to show how beautiful the day was.

So on to the story. The minister that they had do the church wedding was from Indiana. While he is ordained, he was not licensed to marry a couple in Ohio. Turns out one of the guests at the wedding was legal to perform a marriage. So moments before the couple is announced the second minister gets them hitched good and legal.

Anyway have a fabulous honeymoon in Cancun.

Last night I caught up with stylist Ben from studio wish. He was working on a new style with his model Brittany who was super easy to shoot and working for the camera. I really like these random salon assignments, it pushes me in new creative directions. I always up for a something new, if fact I already have my next shot planned when I go back.

What an incredibly cool couple. I should have known the wedding shoot would be great after doing the engagement shoot at an amusement park. Throughout the week we were all watching the weather hoping we would get in our beach location. We were lucky and got some wonderful time on the Lake Erie shore. Devon and Dan also opted for the photobooth, which rocked! Check out Dan's uncle giving his best Yoda face. Have a great time on the honeymoon!

Wow, what a great weekend for a wedding. After a one year delay, Stephanie is in the military, the couple finally had their wedding. The whole day took place at Alpine Valley Ski Resort which made for a great backdrop. I'd also like to thank Sam Carrington for tagging along. Sam is a regular of the Taco Tuesdays and it was great to shoot with him finally.

This weekend I got to second shoot with a fellow photographer and although the weather was a bit rough we got a few breaks in the day to create some amazing images. There was such an energy to this celebration I wanted to stay all night.

I don't have adequate words to say just how impressed I am with CVI. Lee and Mary Jones along with their executive chef Jonannes have created a truly unique experience. I felt like I was on set for a Food Network program! The food, the people and the overall experience of CVI are well worth the trip no matter where you are. Anyone care to join us there for Jenelle's b-day celebration in October ? She is going to love it !

Nicole and Eric are such a laid back fun couple, they were a pleasure to work with. Finally I got the opportunity to shoot at the church our family attends Hudson Community Chapel. The reception venue was also a first for me. Lake Forest County Club is a beautiful place here in town. I look forward to catching up with the couple when they get back.
